The Deuce - 1970 Chevrolet Nova -
Yenko Deuce
YENKO installed the Hood Mounted Tachometer as standard in his Performance
Package. The design included a black and white
display lettering scale with a white RPM pointer and a red RPM engine limiter
pointer that could be set from the outside.

The Nova Yenko Deuce is
one of only 175 produced in 1970. The Hood Mounted Tachometer from
DIXCO is unique to the Yenko Nova.
Donald Frank Yenko,
born in 1927 and simply Don for friends, was not particularly talented as a
racing driver. So, from 1957, he modified the fatherly Chevrolet deal somewhat
by taking care of optical tuning and a few additional horses under the hood. It
was fine parts that came from Yenko - and it became nationwide famous in 1967
when it provided the not-so-weak Camaro SS with the 7-liter Corvette engine
(L-72) and the evil device as "Yenko Camaro" offered. As a result, other
Chevrolets also benefited from the more powerful machines, and Yenko became the
best address when it came to fast Chevrolets.

But Don could not only
guide the two-handed sword, but also the finer blade. A nice example of this is
the “Yenko Deuce”. At the request of Yenko, the Nova received the light,
high-revving 5.7-liter from the Camaro Z-28, which officially produced 360 hp,
plus a short 4-speed gearbox from Muncie, the chassis was both strengthened and
improved, the brakes were also adapted to the significantly better performance,
the interior cleared and a few strips glued on. The "Yenko Deuce" was not the
whole big success, 37 pieces were sold at a price of $ 4,000 - but a legend was
born. Because the relatively light devices were superior to the Camaro and
Corvette in terms of driving pleasure, especially when it was not straight
ahead. And also because Yenko fine-tuned the already bad engines. Today there
are said to be seven "Yenko Deuce".
